HOW MY 4TH GRADE DAUGHTER GOT OUR FAMILY ON OPRAH! I have a funny story about this book. Many people ask me how our family got on Oprah with this book, and then the show re-ran. I had tried all of the normal routes and then in jest said to my four young children, “Anybody that gets Mom on Oprah gets $50.” Little Katelyn, who was about 9 years old wrote a letter to Oprah. A producer called and they came out and did a segment at our home and then flew Katelyn and me out to be on the show. Katelyn is now 25. (I wonder if I ever gave her the fifty dollars.)
